Shark Watch

In October of 2009, East Coast Autogyro will be launching a Shark Watch which will operate along the beaches of Northern NSW and run through to the end of March, 2010.

This patrol will utilise a specially equipped Autogyro, a relatively new type of aircraft that is ideally suited to this type of aerial survey and support role.

The aim of this patrol is to provide aerial support to the Surf Clubs and other Emergency Management organisations in the region and provide assistance where possible in identifying any instances of sharks, rips, fires and dangerous surf conditions along this busy stretch of coastline.

Initially this Community Based Patrol will be launched with our own funding, but for this to be a viable initiative long-term, we are looking to business owners and community members to help their community by coming onboard as sponsors and donors of this exciting program.
